What are some common construction injuries?

A construction accident can leave injured construction workers with devastating injuries and an inability to work. The construction injury can be dangerous for workers which is why they should be familiar with some of the common types of construction accidents and what they, and their families, can do if they are injured on a construction site.

Common construction injuries

Construction workers can, unfortunately, be injured in a variety of ways including:

  • Fall injuries – one of the most common types of construction injuries are falls. Construction workers can suffer falls from scaffolding, cranes, roofs, ladders and other heights on construction sites.
  • Falling object injuries – another common danger on construction sites are falling objects. Improperly secured tools can fall from overhead, as an example, and injure construction workers.
  • Equipment-related injuries – a variety of different types of equipment can be found on construction sites, including heaving equipment. Workers can suffer equipment-related injuries in a variety of settings.
  • Back over and crush injuries – construction workers can suffer back over and crush between injuries related to heavy machinery, equipment and vehicles on a construction site.
  • Collapse injuries – when a trench or building under construction collapses, construction workers can be caught in the collapse and suffer serious injuries.
  • Fires and explosion injuries – first, explosions and other hazards can also injure construction workers on a construction site.

For workers injured in construction accidents, there are different legal remedies and protections that may be available to them depending on the specific situation and circumstances. It is helpful for construction workers to be aware of what they, and their families, can do to get help if they have suffered one of these types of injuries on the job.
